Bobby Glen James writes books about wisdom, business, storytelling, mindset, and whatever else he gets obsessed with next.
CharterLight author
Author. Storyteller. Entrepreneur. Professional Question-Asker.
Bobby has spent most of his life trying to figure out one question:
Why do some people create extraordinary lives while others stay stuck?
That question has taken him through entrepreneurship, personal development, leadership, technology, storytelling, speaking, and a whole lot of trial and error.
Bobby has been in business for more than 30 years and has spent thousands of hours speaking, teaching, training, and working with entrepreneurs and business leaders. Along the way, he discovered something important: the best ideas in the world are useless if nobody understands them, remembers them, or does anything with them.
That realization became the foundation of his writing.
Bobby does not write books to sound smart. He writes them to make complicated ideas simple, memorable, useful, and sometimes a little ridiculous.
Whether he is telling the story of a young boy searching for wisdom, breaking down the science of storytelling using a rollercoaster, helping business owners escape terrible technology, or translating a hundred-year-old philosophy into language that makes sense today, Bobby brings the same approach.
Make it real. Make it simple.Make it useful.
Bobby's own path has never been conventional. Dyslexia and ADHD made traditional learning and writing difficult, so he learned to understand ideas through stories, pictures, comparisons, conversations, and experience.
Instead of seeing that as a limitation, it eventually became part of his writing style.
He writes the way he talks. Straightforward. Curious. Funny. Occasionally inappropriate. And always focused on getting to the point.
Bobby believes a book should do more than sit on a shelf looking impressive. A good book should make you:
That is what he tries to create every time he sits down to write.
You will not find a lot of academic language in Bobby's books. You may find:
And the occasional story that makes you wonder where his brain went to come up with it. That is kind of the point. Learning should not feel like punishment.
Bobby Glen James writes for people who are curious, ambitious, imperfect, busy, distracted, and still convinced there is more they can do with their lives. If that sounds like you, you are probably in the right place.
Welcome to the ride.
